115-117

115. Thin Air by Rachel Caine
I don't usually read these kind of books (the fantasy-romance genre), but I read some of the Morganville Vampire books, and really liked Caine's writing. The books aren't anything too special, but they don't need to be. This is the sixth book in the series and I completely enjoyed reading -- which was the point. Joanne Baldwin can't remember anything and has to fight against, well, evil forces to set things right. I really like how Caine uses this book to answer some questions raised int he previous books, but even more so to build up the story for the next book (which I have yet to read). This book, as with the others, make really good books to lose yourself in.

116. Extras by Scott Westerfeld
I finally finished reading the Uglies series and I loved it. But here's the thing, many of the characters drive me crazy. I really liked Aya, but she was frustrated with her focus on getting famous. Her brother, Hiro, annoyed me, but I grew to like him (along with Aya's boyfriend and Hiro and Aya's friend, Ren). What surprised me was how (this could be a spoiler) cruel and mean Tally is. I think that she's probably always been this way, it's just we've been reading the three previous books from her POV and so everything was glossed over. But now we've got a completely different point of view, so we can see Tally as she is. It's fascinating and both awesome and depressing.

117. Untamed by PC Cast & Kristin Cast
This is the fourth book in the House of Night series and I loved it as much as I loved the other three. It was really way more fun than I expected and yet again, the Casts did a fantastic job with their plot and the cliff hanger-type thing at the end. I am excited about this series, it's really fun, well written and interesting. I enjoy the conflict within Zoey, she might have Mary-Sue tendencies, but things do go wrong and she can't always prevent and/or fix everything. It's refreshing, as is the face that she's not helpless and her friends are her friends. What she does has consequences, unlike some YA sf/f books.I cannot wait for the rest of the series!
